Careers Day 2008
Our future careers are very important and we were very grateful to be able to talk to some more professionals about what we could do when we leave school.
Engineers from BT showed the children in years 4, 5 and 6 how they keep the cables and connections for our telephone lines open. They also make sure our internet connections are working properly.
Scientists from Proctor & Gamble also came to show us how science can be lots of fun. They showed us how to make silly putty using glue, water and a special secret ingredient! It was really messy!
We also met some Dentists from the Dental Hospital at Newcastle University. They taught us about dental hygiene and they let us make our own cast of a tooth using plaster of paris.
Finally we met some mechanics from the Automotive Centre of Excellence at Gateshead College. They brought in two bikes to show us. They explained how some bikes can be environmentally friendly. We loved this bike!
