Thomas Hepburn Half Marathon Challenge
Every year our school, along with others in the area, take part in the Thomas Hepburn Half Marathon Challenge. This year Miss Georgeson and Mrs Huggins took Beech Class to Gateshead Stadium to compete.

Mrs Walton from EMTAS (Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Services) comes to Brandling every week to work with our children. This week she came to teach the whole class more about Traveller history.
Year 4/5 were invited to take part in a fun maths day at the MetroCentre, Gateshead.
Our future careers are very important and we were very grateful to be able to talk to some more professionals about what we could do when we leave school.
The very talented children from our school put on two fantastic Christmas Productions this year.
The children in Reception and Key Stage One performed a traditional nativity play and the Key Stage Two children performed a Pantomime.
The whole school came out to watch our Balloon Launch, which celebrated our Outstanding Ofsted.

Years 5 and 6 had a careers advice day. Different speakers gave advice about four very different careers. This lady was from the National Trust.
Key Stages 1 and 2 had a fantastic time at Gateshead International Stadium for their sports day.
Year 4/5 took part in a maths trail along Newcastle Quayside this week. The trail began at Guildhall Tourist Information Centre, and was a circular route which included a trip over the Millenium Bridge and a visit into the Sage Gateshead.

At Brandling we love to keep fit and healthy.This week, Year 4/5 took part in the Thomas Hepburn half marathon at Gateshead Stadium.

Year 4/5 pupils have recently been taking part in the Take One Picture: North, South, East, West project at the Laing Art Gallery.

Year 4/5 have been studying the Anglo Saxons this half term. To find out more about their topic, they visited Bedesworld at Jarrow.

Year 4/5 visited Heworth Grange CLC to take part in ICT activities.

Children and staff from Reception to Year 5 went to Brandling Community Centre this afternoon to sing carols and songs from their Christmas plays.
Key Stage 2 performed their Christmas play, 'The Sleeping Prince' to an audience which was delighted with all the songs, dances and acting from all of the children.
Year 4/5 Beech Class visited the Segedunum Roman Fort in Wallsend to explore their Egyptian exhibit. The exhibit is currently on loan from the Hancock Museum, and contains a range of artefacts which helped the pupils to learn more about their topic, the ancient Egyptians.
